These creatures may be winged, and live in dark forests or mountain caves, and love music and nature. At twilight, they come out to the waters of pools or lakes to bathe, then dance and sing into the night. Not inherently dangerous to humans, woodland fairies, in popular tales, can be loyal allies or scornful enemies. The feeling of the piece should be light and dance-like, with short, almost brushed eighth notes. Quarter notes may be longer and more sustained.
