Thunderscape was written to convey the grandeur and awe of one of nature's greatest spectacles, the thunderstorm. The frantic pace of the piece provides a backdrop for the main element of the thunderstorm, the thunder sheet. Preferably, two thunder shee. This work places great emphasis on rhythm. Notwithstanding, there are several melodic themes that develop throughout. The first occurs at measure 12 in the brass, the second at measure 30 in the woodwinds, and the last in measure 71.
