The second is that of the Major 7th chord with an augmented fifth, and its relationship to the harmonic major scale. This is used as a source of tension. its release is found in suspended chords and Lydian major-seventh sounds. The tensions are typically organized in the ensemble passages. the solo sections are easier. There are also altered dominants based on melodic minor scales, and diminished seventh chords with added major sevenths. This should be light and swinging, with clean tones throughout.
