The immortal French song 'Les Feuilles Mortes'. Autumn Leaves. was composed by Joseph Kosma on a text by Jacques Prevert. Kosma worked with Berthold Brecht, Kurt Weil and Hans Eisler in Berlin before he settled in Paris. Together with the poet and scriptwriter Jacques Prevert. 1900-1977. he composed some eighty songs. It was singer Yves Montand. 1921-1991. who performed 'Autumn Leaves' for the first time in 1955 and it soon became extremely popular. It is one of the 30 most popular songs of this century.
